Daniel Casara, the Republican who launched an intraparty challenge against Rep. Duncan Hunter, has left that race after just weeks of campaigning, but isn’t leaving politics. He’s recalibrated and is now running against Rep. Scott Peters, a San Diego Democrat.

Retired Army Sgt. Daniel Casara, who initially stepped up to challenge embattled Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-Alpine), on Thursday joined other Republicans seeking to oust Democratic Rep. Scott Peters from his 52nd Congressional District seat.
